Newborn Photography Training with Real Practice and Personal Guidance

Table of Contents
9 years of experience, countless family stories, and an unbelievable number of diapers – all for that perfect shot
Photographing newborns is like working with tiny stars: they always do exactly what they want. The pose? Maybe. A smile? Only if you’re lucky – and usually in their sleep. Snack breaks? Always on the baby’s schedule, never the photographer’s. That’s why newborn photography training isn’t about theory for the sake of theory – it’s about real practice, where the tiniest model is always the director.
Over the years, I’ve learned not to argue with a 3-kilogram model, but to gently adjust the workflow to their mood. Good light, safe posing, a calm atmosphere, and a clear workflow – these are the foundations that turn chaos into beautiful images and send parents home relaxed and happy.
Since 2016, I’ve been photographing newborns, expectant mothers, and babies under one year old. Hundreds of families have visited my studio, and every session has proven one thing: working with such tiny models requires a very special approach. Over time, I developed a system that helps photographers work confidently with newborns, master the light, and achieve consistent results instead of chaos. This system became the foundation of my newborn photography training. My newborn photography training course is designed to help photographers not just learn the theory, but confidently put it into practice.
Today I offer newborn photography training: private one-on-one workshops, small group sessions, and a full online course for photographers who want to grow in this niche and work at an expert level.
Your Journey Through Newborn Photography Training
Most newborn photography training looks like this: everything happens in one day – the photographer shows, the student watches, takes a few photos, and… that’s it. It’s fun while it lasts, but you go home with your head full of information and your hands still unsure what to do.
I do things differently. My training lasts two full days, because real confidence comes from practice, not just watching.
Day 1 – Watch & Learn
You can relax and enjoy the process while I do the shooting. I’ll walk you through posing, wrapping techniques, lighting, and workflow, explaining every step and answering all your questions – no pressure, no stress, just a calm space to absorb everything.
Day 2 – Practice & Shine
Now it’s your turn behind the camera. You’ll choose props, pose the baby, and create your own series of images – and I’ll be right there with you, guiding and supporting you every step of the way. This is the day when everything you’ve learned clicks into place.
By the end, you’ll leave not just with notes, but with real experience – and the calm confidence that you can handle a newborn session on your own.

What’s Included in the Training
Here’s what we’ll explore together during this hands-on newborn photography training:
In just two days of newborn photography training, we’ll cover everything that actually matters – no filler, no overwhelm. Only the essentials you need when your model weighs just a few kilos and has very strong opinions about naps.
Here’s what we’ll explore together during this hands-on newborn photography training:
- getting parents and the baby ready for the session (so mom stays calm and dad doesn’t ask every ten minutes, “Are we done yet?”);
- setting up your studio and props (and yes, posing pillows have their own personalities too);
- studio lighting and camera settings (key techniques no newborn photographer can skip);
- classic newborn poses on the posing pillow and in props;
- angles and smooth pose transitions – to keep your gallery varied and your baby model happy;
- safe wrapping techniques and gentle ways to soothe a newborn;
- working with parents and older siblings if they join the session;
- editing 2–3 photos – to see how to take an image from raw to final.
And at the end of each day, we’ll have time for questions – to clear up anything that still feels like “hmm” or “can you show that part again?”

Stories From My Students: From Panic to Their First Confident Sessions
When I first started teaching photographers, many came to me with the same worries: “What if I’m doing everything wrong?” or “I panic the moment the baby starts crying.”
After the course, these same people write things like: “I’m no longer afraid of newborn sessions, I’ve found my first clients, and I know how to calm a baby before the parents even reach for the bottle.”
Here’s what photographers who took my online newborn photography training say (the format was different, but my attention to detail and support have always been the same):
💬 Irina
“This course was a real breakthrough for me. Viktoria carefully reviewed every photo I submitted, gave clear advice and corrections, and at the same time always supported and inspired me. Thanks to her approach, I stopped being afraid of mistakes and started feeling confident photographing newborns.”
💬 Natalia
“I picked up a camera for the first time during this course. I learned the basics of newborn photography, how to work with the camera and light – and most importantly, how to stay calm around a baby. Now I’m doing my very first sessions, and I’m so grateful to Viktoria for guiding me through every step.”
💬 Nazeli
“Before the course, I panicked at the thought of photographing newborns. Now I work confidently with both the posing pillow and props. I realized it’s absolutely doable – and I’ve never regretted joining the course.”
💬 Svetlana
“It was so helpful that I could rewatch the lessons and really absorb the material. The assignments with feedback were especially valuable. Now I know how to create session packages, work with light, and make my galleries more diverse. Huge thanks for the knowledge and support!”
If you’ve ever dreamed of photographing newborns without the stress – just calm, happy parents and beautiful photos – this training is for you.
Two days to swap chaos for structure, and nerves for confidence.
P.S. Babies don’t read instructions – and they always do things their own way. But that’s exactly what makes our job so fascinating. 😉
